This month, the volunteer spotlight is on Kathy Patten!
Kathy is the mastermind of the July 4 50/50 raffle. This event has become an institution at the 4th of July parade in Eagle River. Each year Kathy field’s a team of volunteer ticket sellers wearing neon colored T-shirts and carrying rolls of what they all say are the winning ticket. One of them is right! With a short window of opportunity, Kathy has created an event that regularly sends the winner home with an exciting ash prize and supports the Historical Society generously. From ticket sales, money counters, golf cart runners and parade bleachers, Kathy is on top of it all. Thanks Kathy Patten – Spotlight Volunteer!
